申请business school 的 phd还是要慎重一些的。这个profession是非常难混的。5-6年phd是一个大的commitment and investment。如果侥幸survive下来， 还要fight for a job。 然后呢， 就是fight with referees, fight with co-authors, and fight for tenure。。。不是对research真的感兴趣的， 还是别往里跳了。。。

By the way, are you pursuing a PhD yourself? If not, you may not be qualified to make this statement.

Why not? That the post is applicable for Phd other than BSchool doesn't infer that the reasoning is unsound.

其实好多跳的人,对research不感兴趣,对其他工作也不敢兴趣,所以干什么都是一样的. 国内对自己工作不感兴趣的人多了去了,难道他们就都不干了,辞职? 别把读phd太当回事,根其他工作一样,都是糊口的一种手段.

而且做得好不好,跟你有没有兴趣,我感觉关系不大,运气,或者说是命,是最重要的,别的都是浮云.

强烈re啊，所谓学术界就是一个发paper的industry而已嘛，哪有那么神圣。相当一部分PHD也都是在混日子而已么

路边摆了几盘看着不错的菜，几个人看中其中一盘炒韭菜想吃或已经开吃上了，A说话了
A：这盘韭菜还是别吃了吧，也不知放了多久了，卫不卫生，你们要不是真特想吃这盘韭菜，还是别碰了去那些饭店吃吧，也许更对胃口吃得舒心。
B：你说的这话有什么意思，你看这盘炒包菜还有那炒西兰花也都一样，也不一定卫生啊，你说的这韭菜怎么不一定卫生也适用于那几盘啊，不是等于什么都没说么，也没具体指出这盘韭菜有哪些独特的缺点所以我们不吃，简直是废话。

学生物的劝退都能摆出好几条理由，商学院应该更能列原因才是；毕竟世上没有完美的工作，也没有完美的人，相对而言商学院博士在各类博士中前景还算不错的了。

觉得如果已经有份不错的工作的话，不一定需要去冒险花5年读PHD。
但是如果手头没有好的工作，而且也不知道自己想做什么，不如读书。看到很多人因为找不到工作在家读CFA，但是你知道每年有多少人再考CFA，成千上万。 所以如果本科/硕士成绩好，不如去学习些别人不能轻易学习到的东西，比如PHD，尝试下吧，反正也没有什么太大的损失。我总体感觉在国外，有知识的童鞋还是非常受人尊重的。
