答案选D，我选E，E错是因为was的数不对。
1，如果E是were是不是比E好呢，我觉得一般过去时比较好
2，D用分词making来修饰完成时have been dated可以吗？

不是我说，要是想把E改对了，估计长得就跟D差不多了。。。
什么时候断定的年代没有指出，只是说了发现年代是1991，也许人家刚刚断定也不一定，不过用过去式却是精确一些，当然如果把年代当做一个客观存在，现在时也不错，所以不能根据此点判断。E出现了两个动词，要把make换成非谓语，就跟D一样了，最后一个词，of不准确，哪个动物不是属于那个岛，而是生活在那个岛，明显on好些
