Well, if you target at Finance PhD, I guess Duke Econ MA is the best choice; unless BC offers you fellowship. (I'm assuming you have to pay for your education.) However, as an insider, I guess the previous post may overestimate the placements of Duke master program. Well Duke certainly provides a great platform and many precious resources. If you can use them properly, then you are definitely a rising star and you can get into top PhD programs. Yes there are MA alumni going to Wharton, Kellogg, Columbia, Harvard, Stanford, etc. However, it's very naive and dangerous to assume that you can easily replicate their success. The placement varies a lot. It depends on YOU.
It is never easy to impress or get connection with a professor. You need to be smart, diligent, proactive, or lucky enough to have a chance.
You can find most placements on the website and you can make your own judgment. Be aware: don't assume that you can easily replicate those successful ones: the placement varies a lot.
Anyway, Duke provides a great platform. The rest are on your own.
Nono U don no how competitive to get in DUKE ECON MA this year. I know tons of econ 3.8+ GRE
