在OG上找到了一题,正是用",Ving"修饰前面紧邻的名词的.

OG12-65:

疑问，分词表伴随状态时要考虑和主句的时态的关系，如本题，伴随Ving不能与完成时并列，下面的题又怎么解释呢？

答案是C，Ving伴随一般过去时，可以么

回LS：
首先你问的这个问题答案里头并没有ving和完成时的并列，而是animal-hide shields... were essential items..., protecting...
这里protecting引导的modifier是作为主语animal-hide shields（同时因为这里是主系表结构，shields=items of military equipment）的补充修饰，不是伴随。

ving作伴随状语只能修饰动词，并且逻辑主语必须是句子的主语，至于能不能修饰完成时主要要看句意；
ving作结果状语的时候只能修饰前面一整个句子所表达的含义，相当于把前面整个句子看成the case/phenomenon去修饰。

原题的v-ing不能跟主句完成时一起用的原因主要是句意问题，从意思的角度去多体会体会吧~

我觉得是这样的：
1. 如果V-ing前没有，作文形容词就近修饰名词。
2. ，v-ing形式： 要看主句的结构：主系表做补充修饰；主谓宾可以做伴随和结构状语，看具体意思。
