Congratulations on your admission to The University of Texas at Dallas! Choosing to come to the United States to pursue your education can be an exciting and sometimes overwhelming process. The UT Dallas International Student Services Office (ISSO) is available to guide you as you take your next steps. We look forward to assisting you in your transition.
This e-mail provides important information on the following items:
Submit your documents to the ISSO to obtain a UT Dallas I-20 Access your UT Dallas email account for notifications on the status of your UT Dallas I-20 Verify the address UT Dallas will use to send your I-20 Join the ISSO Facebook group! Explore alternative financial sponsorship opportunities
Submit your documents to the ISSO An I-20 is necessary when applying for an F-1 student visa. To determine which documents are required to obtain your UT Dallas I-20, please visit the UT Dallas ISSO website. If you currently study at another U.S. school, maintain F-1 student immigration status, and need a UT Dallas I-20 please visit the UT Dallas ISSO website utdallas.edu/student/international/new/Visa_Info.html to determine which documents to submit to the ISSO.
There is no deadline to submit your documents to the ISSO. If you will apply for the first time for an F-1 student visa, it is to your advantage to submit them as early as possible so you can obtain your I-20 and apply for your visa with plenty of time. If you currently are maintaining F-1 student immigration status you are subject to immigration deadlines to obtain a UT Dallas I-20, it is to your advantage to submit your documents within 30 days of your program start date to avoid missing these deadlines.
You may send your documents by e-mail to ISSOProspective@utdallas.edu or by fax to 972-883-4010.
Please read as well the ISSO I-20 FAQ for information that you may need between the time you are admitted to UT Dallas and when your I-20 is received.
Access your UT Dallas e-mail account The ISSO will send important information to your UT Dallas e-mail account. You can log in to the UT Dallas Zmail portal (https://zmail.utdallas.edu/) with your Net ID and password.
If you haven''t yet created your UT Dallas Net ID and password, do so at the Net ID website. You can contact the UT Dallas Help Desk at assist@utdallas.edu for assistance.
If you have already submitted the financial and immigration documents necessary to receive a UT Dallas I-20, you will receive an e-mail from the ISSO within 2 business days with instructions. This e-mail will be sent to your UT Dallas e- mail address.
Verify your SEVIS-Foreign address in Orion As a default, your UT Dallas I-20 will be sent to the address coded as "SEVIS-Foreign" in the UT Dallas Orion system. You may verify this address by logging in to Orion. Click on "Self Service" then "Student Center". In the " ersonal Information" section, under "Contact Information", please click on " ermanent Address".
If you would like your I-20 to be sent to a different address, please send an e-mail with the address to the ISSO at ISSOProspective@utdallas.edu.
Due to a temporary technical problem, you may not have easy access to your UT Dallas Zmail or Orion account information. We anticipate this problem being resolved within the next week. In the meantime, UT Dallas admission and I-20 information will be sent to your personal email address in addition to your Zmail. If you have immediate questions about your admission status, please contact admissions- status@utdallas.edu.
Join the ISSO Facebook Group Join the UT Dallas Facebook Group for your class: Spring 2011, Summer 2011 or Fall 2011. All international students admitted to UT Dallas are invited to join. It is a great way to arrange for housing, make travel plans, or to know others who will be your classmates.
