同学。。。。。。。当然可以加the，加the表示夫妇或者一家人，比如，the Greens， 就是格林夫妇或者格林一家人。。。。。

解释的真好 不过还是有疑问:

为什么要说 the Brontes and Brownings, 而不是Bronte and Browning?  如果the Greens 是指Green一家人,那么这里不是一家人啊

the Brontes特指勃朗特三姐妹（而不是某个family） ，而Brownings是另外一个人。
