Called by temple

I got a call from temple finance when I was buying something outside.
1. Why phD?
2. Why Temple?
3. Other universities applied?
4. Why not my current school?
The professor was pretty nice and the conversation was not that formal.
The call was unexpected. It seems that we should begin to prepare for interviews now. You just don't know when you will be called.
