求offer比较~Rochester和LSE的MSF

现在手上有Rochester和LSE的MSF offer,rochester快要交的deposit了,问了各方意见都决定不了,想请大家忙帮看一下~

我没有留在国外的意向,毕业能在国外找到工作最好,找不到回国或者去香港都挺好。而且现在美国、英国好像都留不下来,所以主要是要考虑回国找工作的问题,主要比较因素有以下几点:

location:我觉得这个对找国内的工作尤其重要,要是去rochester的话估计是要跑到纽约去参加job fair的,LSE的位置显然是胜于R的。

时间:R的据说可以延长到17个月,我觉得这样好歹有适应的时间,调整的时间,不会那么赶。LSE就9个月,去了就要抓紧时间找工作,而且据说课程也颇有难度,所以肯定会过的比较紧张。

校友资源:我非常看重周围同学的水平,亲身经历告诉我同学氛围对于一个人的进步有多么重要,是不是这个LSE,起码就MSF这个项目来说,会好一些?

教育氛围:美国的教育体系可能更自由一些,英国相对更死板一些,而且确实听人说国内对美国学位的认可度更高一些。

总之,希望了解情况的同志们指点一下我这个不明真相的人吧~尤其是那些有在国外找工作经验的大牛们~~在这里谢过大家了!!


PS:报背景:TOP2,本科金融,GPA:3.7+,TOEFL:107,GMAT:740+5.5,一个美国暑期学校交流,三个实习。其实木有亮点,但也木有短板,估计是LSE这种卡各种硬件卡的比较严的学校喜欢的吧……

估计楼主也是一个美国控。好多人说LSE在美国找工作不行,其实我觉得这是不对的。你只要自己GOOGLE 下LSE AT WALL ST就可以知道LSE在美国的校友是多强悍。SIMON在美国确实很牛,不过根本不是跟LSE一等级的。撑死了就是ROSS那个等级。废话不说,我可以QUOTE几段从WIKIPEDIA的话,IN CASE你在国内看不到。我还ATTACH一个LSE在商界的校友录。LSE的政界影响力我想不用我多说了,其实出乎我意料的是很多美国大公司CEO都是那的。

MIT能招几个啊……招走一半还剩一半直接掉到美国的TIER 2了,MSF好学校没多少~中间有空挡

Vote for Rochester.
Rochester的商学院很牛呀。而且在美国, 至少在我周围的人中reputation还是很高的。不过我对LSE的了解也不是特别多,只是知道Rochester很好。我觉得即使是以后回国, 还是现在这边先有点工作经验比较好吧。而且我觉得你在Rochester应该能学到不少,不只是academic方面。

我不是很care学术方面的东西,我觉得出去读书整个环境对人思维的影响更重要一些~知识这个东西,想学自己就能学了…恩,谢谢你的建议~

P大T大每年招两千本科生,保守估计三分之一出国,哪可能被美国名校消化完啊…而且各校都有牛人出啊~

我是真的觉得金融硕士那些课程都不是很quant,论课程设置其实没有实质性区别,那么区分学校的关键就在于brand,平台和校友人脉。在这方面,LSE和SIMON相比实在是完胜。。。当然如果楼主是美国控的话那就单说吧,即便rochester的牌子不够,还可以吃top 2的老本呢,看你自己想要什么了
