Every school's different.  For the people who received interviews, their chance of receiving an offer:
HBS was about 7/12
Wharton was about 1/3
CBS is about 1/3 (maybe a little more)
NYU was around 7/12
Chicago was around 4/9
Kellogg (interviews most) would be ~1/5.

除了kellogg面试几乎所有的申请人，别家interview invitation可是经过很严格筛选的。

今年的stanford号称要interview 800-1200人，录取400-500人。

HBS竟然有7/12那么高？我以为他们低于1/2的。。。请问LZ这些ratio哪里的出处？

可不可以理解为这个比例越低,对硬性背景的要求就越宽或者说,给更多的人以机会.
而像有些简历控的学校,这个比例就相对高
所以对于有些简历不是很辉煌但很有料的人,这个比例越低越好

LZ所谓“有些简历不是很辉煌但很有料的人”，举个例子？？

一个人要是有料，或多或少都要通过一些形式表达出来，总会有些achievement或者对生活有深刻的认识，这些东西都可以写到简历或者essay里，adcom一看就明白了

有料但是简历或者essay里面又看不出来的，要不就是没有好好挖掘，要不就是也没什么真料

I think the interview-to-admission offer- ratio is high because the interviews are conducted exclusilvely by Adcoms.   Because the resources of adcoms are limited, these 2 schools have to choose fewer to interview and will accept higher % of interviewed.  CBS/Booth/Wharton/Kellogg use blind interviews by 2nd year MBA students or alumni.

I don't think we can over-interpret this number on how they relate to backgrounds.
