英国学校的WL不是我们理解的WL，我申的finance也是圣诞前被WL了，不过比较幸运收到一封解释的邮件，给楼主看看应该能让你安心一点：

Our selectors have given initial consideration to your application for the MSc in Finance (full-time) but are not yet able to reach a final decision. They wish to reconsider your application in a few weeks. Your application has therefore been added to the programme waiting list.

Applications are placed on the waiting list when the Selectors wish to see more files to gain a better idea of the applicant pool before making a final decision. At times when academic staff may be away, such as Christmas, the wait listing option may also be used.

When your file is reconsidered you may be made an offer or you may be unsuccessful. Either outcome is possible and being placed on the waiting list does not pre-determine either outcome.


Your application will be sent back to the selectors for final consideration within eight weeks, and we will contact you with a final decision as soon as possible after that time.

所以说WL的和under consideration的同学们唯一区别大概就是：你的材料被审过了，他们的还没有……之所以和美国学校的WL完全不同，大概是因为LSE没有确定截止日期，所以要边审材料边等后面的申请者。当然是我个人乐观推测了，欢迎拍，不过请轻点。。。BTW我是11月23号提交的。

话说其实这和美国人给的解释貌似也没差多少。。。不过因为英国是无deadline的，所以wl应该会比美国的待遇好一些吧？

话说你这个背景也被wl了，lse的finance果然要求很高嘛
