关于the

特指是要指给别人看，在某一系列事物中说话者想要描述的东西。但是这里，construction of the first skyscraper不用你指别人也知道是第一幢摩天大楼的建造。他强调第一幢摩天楼的“建造”，对于第一幢摩天楼而言，建造只有一个。但是如果你要强调第一幢摩天楼的某扇窗户，就必须要The window of the first skyscraper 了。

关于你指的唯一的东西要特指，其实只是在江河湖海，天体之前是必须要加的。比如The moon，The pearl river delta，其他不是的。

还有在一些职位之前，虽然是唯一，但是不加the。比如He was elected monitor of our class. 班长前面是不加the的。
