关于career goal+why mba essay的问题

想请大家指教,到底是较详尽地写出自己的职业发展包括每次跳槽的原因及做出的成就来得出career goal?
还是把职业发展精简到一些大概的描述,而主要突出自己的一些想法的发展来推出career goal?
因为两种风格迥然不同,侧重也不一样,所以不清楚到底用哪一种比较好

vote for the latter one, but you can still weave your working experience in it.

Hey there! Yes, you absolutely NEEEEED to describe why you have taken the jobs you’ve taken, why you have left, etc.  This is one of the most important parts of your application, it is what we call a “career arc.”  Essentially, the adcom wants to see how you have been implementing your plan, from day one.  “I am passionate about making movies.  So first, I took a job in writing. After that, I needed directing experience.  So then I took a job in directing.  After that, I needed acting experience.  So I took a job in acting.  All that’s left is how to raise money!  And that’s why I need business school…”

You get the idea—it is absolutely critical that you describe your reasoning for taking all of these jobs, along the way.

Thanks Jon.

I have written the reasons why i choose a job and why i leave for another one because of my pursuing of end goal.
But in five years, i have worked in 4 companies, so it took me some words to explain each change and left me little space to describe my accomplishments in 4 postions!!!! such as leadership,teamwork etc.

So my concern is that whether the adcom would think that this person is weak because they can not find much achievements in the career goal essay?

Hey there.  So this is a bit tougher to answer.  J  The trick here has to be your covering those 4 positions clearly.  Concisely.  To describe all your teamwork, leadership, etc. in all four positions will take too long.  And frankly, it will lead the adcom to find your background to be even MORE scattered.  Just cover one main accomplishment in each.  For the earliest job, for example, you may even be able to SKIP the accomplishments altogether! Just explain why you took the job, what you did there, and why you left.  Don’t let this story keep you from describing your goals…
