我的疑问是：C是正确的。 但是circling other stars是不是svo, doing结构中的doing， 作伴随状语， 逻辑主语是astronomers，这样就把正确答案否定了。
另外D选项也没什么毛病啊，为什么不选D呢？

"which" describe "Jupeter" here, not just wrong in the meaning, but also has grammer error, should be "which circles"

C选项的circling作伴随状语，语法上可以修饰astronomers，也可以修饰planets；但astronomers circling明显不合逻辑，所以在此句中修饰planets。

D选项，首先是单复数的错误，也就是楼上所述。

其次个人认为mostly作为adv出现在这里不恰当，adv一般作为前置词，修饰动词或形容词，在D选项中，mostly放在了at least的前面，让人confuse到底mostly修饰的是at least还是作为一个most of them的缩略词出现在这里。指代不明，故D选项不合适。

三楼的大侠   我在新东方上课时我们老师说C选项的circling作伴随状语，逻辑主语是主句主语astronomers, 不是planets,三楼是不是说错了？

C选项中，“most of them at least as large as Jupeter”作为插入语修饰planets，用两个逗号隔开。在具体处理这个句子的时候，可以将这个插入语和它附近的两个逗号都略去，则句子就成了：

In the past several years, astronomers have detected more than 80 massive planets circling other stars.

那么就可以很明显看出：circling是修饰planets的
