答案是C， 但不明白E为什么错

做题时一读下来，感觉E项最正常，就毫不犹豫地选了。
全句如果连起来，如下：
Beatrix Potter, in her book illustrations, carefully coordinated them with her narratives and capitalized on her keen observation and love of the natural world.

自我解释：
主语：Beatrix Potter
谓语：coordinated  / capitalized
翻译起来也很顺：BP在她书的插图中仔细地将它们与她的叙述协调起来了，而且利用了她对自然世界的敏锐的观察力及爱。
如果非要说E错了，那可能错在them，但其实是不引起歧义的，前面除了BP就是instrations了，很明显。但可能插入语在句子里不作成份，所以them指代得让人感觉莫名其妙的。（但总比C里，在主语前堆那么多东东好，人都还没出来呢，就she 和her了，做题一读就很反感。不过知道答案后再一读，也顺了。唉，英语就是这么回事。人家说对那心里都觉得对了。杯具~）

因为原句强调的重心在“capitalize on her keen observation and love of the natural world”，而“coordinating them with her narratives”只是做伴随状语。答案E改变，或者说增加了原句的重心。

我第一次做的时候，也是选的E

但是E在仔细分析下，那个them指代的是什么呢？

把E还原到最基本的形式： Beatrix Potter carefully coordinated them with her narratives in her book illustrations
and capitalize .....

你看，them 就没有指代对象了

所以E还是错误的

但是OG关于E的错误原因是：The participial phrase does not clearly modify book illustrations; the relationships among the parts of the sentence are unclear。
对于them的用法只字未提这至少说明them错的不如它给出的错因严重，这就让人费解了。。。
我就觉得E要说错就只有them指代上面有错，OG给的解释我很费解啊~

按og的解释就是说carefully coordinated them with her narratives没有很好的修饰illustrations，事实上 in her book illustrations，成为了修饰 coordinate的状语（而coordinate的宾语却又是illstrations）
coordinate是要修饰illustrations，而coordinate的动作发出者是BP，BP  capitalized on 是句子的主要意思，C很好的表达出这点。E让各部分混乱了。

我对E也有疑惑。如果them不能指代in的宾语，为什么C选项的which就可以？
曼哈顿第五版指出，object pronouns can be the object of verbs/ pronouns.所以them是可以指代介词短语中的宾语部分。
但是我又感觉这是一个modifier,是可以去掉的部分，them就没有指代的对象了。求解！！！
