问题干中的sleeping：不是说直接动词+ing的话当动词看吗？所以我当时做题的时候找不到正确答案。。不是说doing前加the才能当动名词看，即当名词看吗？

我提了一下提干，是这样的

"shift-worker equations" base on ... have reduced sickness, sleeping on the job and fatigue amony... while ...in ....

Sleeping 是个名词，就像LS说的marketing一样，而不是动名词，所以不需要加the吧。

个人之见。

楼主...........这题我也是想问这个！！你解决了可是我还是没明白
manhattan的解释如下：
Simple Gerund: EATING apples quickly. (more verb-like)
Complex Gerund: The quick EATING of apples. (more noun-like)

而且说只有complex gerund可以和action noun平行,simple gerund只能和自己平行

那么sickness, fatigue among shift workers 不都是action noun么？
按manhattan的解释，这里的sleeping on the job不是应该是simple gerund么？为什么可以平行啊？？？？？ 为什么不应该是加冠词变成complex gerund?

为什么sleeping不是简单动名词？？简单动名词可以和sickness这种平行吗？？
