5、Application Essay/Statement of Purpose

Please discuss the following questions based on your reading of our mission statement and the descriptions of our programs. You are also welcome to add comments from your readings, observations, and experience. This essay serves as the Rackham "statement of purpose" and should be uploaded with your online application.

6、Personal Statement

The Rackham Graduate

School now requires a "ersonal Statement" in addition to the formal Application Essay/Statement of Purpose described above. This statement should convey how your personal background and life experiences, including social, cultural, familial, educational, or other opportunities or challenges, motivated your decision to pursue a graduate degree. For this statement, please write a brief (500-word limit), non-academic statement.

上面是我选的一所学校的两项要求，其它的学校只要一个，就是不知道有什么差别吗？？
我和中介一起只弄了3封推荐信、PS和CV，怎么办？他们也没叫我自己写statement of purpose啊……

另：有没有同学知道那几个问题列出来是什么意思啊？一个问题一篇essay，还是一篇里面回答全部问题？

问题有点多，有懂的请一定要帮我啊，马上就要申请了，感激不尽

我觉得不一样把，前面的是说你的学习目的，第二个是对于自己情况的一些介绍~

个人理解
statement of purpose
类似于典型的美国式有TOPIC的ESSAY.就是我们那种常说的"按不同学校,ESSAY会有不同题目"那种.通过这个,对方想了解你是否有能力去完成GRADUATE STUDY,是否FIT他们的PROGRAM,是否了解你自己(如果你连自己都不了解自己,又何来要求别人来了解你呢?)等等.算是对你EQ的一个评估吧

就是介绍你一些背景啊,经历啊之类的.英国提交的PS就是这种.

内容上来看,SP带虚,PS很实.

实在不能理解(估计我也没表达清楚),就想成这是两篇ESSAYS吧,按照要求写就是了,别管ESSAY和PS的事了.

不用一个问题就写一个ESSAY吧. 就写成两篇吧.
不过网申的话,不知框框是一个还是两个.
