大全339；大全831；大全868 中关于“of 核心词”的判断

看了LZM的语法说到“A of B”结构中A为核心词，但是在“大全339；大全831；大全868"中的这三道题中却又不是这么判断的，怎么理解呢？

大全339；If additional deposits of oil are found, it will expand the amount that can be used as fuel and reduce the price of oil, even if the deposits are not immediately tapped.
-- LZM解释it指代oil,但是按照他的"A of B"理论不应该是deposits吗？

大全831；The study undertaken by Department of the Interior will involve examination and tagging of the California condor in order to obtain information about their daily movements, foraging habits, and sites where they nest. -- 同上，LZM解释核心词为California condor所以后面划线部their应该用its.又和"A of B"理论矛盾

大全868；To ensure consistently high quality in its merchandise, the chain of retail stores became involved in every aspect of their suppliers’ operations, dictating not only the number of stitches and the width of the hem in every garment as well as the profit margins of those suppliers -- 同上,LZM解释核心词为retail stores，又一次不同于"A of B"理论

因为本人刚开始看，不知道是不是还有些什么其它的of核心词判断方法没有学到？如何解释以上几个问题呢？已经错了好几题了都是关于这个知识点，特此求教，谢谢！

deposit of oil 应该是指代deposit 吧？
如果把it当成oil句意就变成 油会扩大可用燃料的量和降低油价。。。
我觉得应该是这样的。。。

那deposits of oil 后面那个是are，说明是复数吧

A OF B 结构还有一个问题就是A OF B  that +V.结构里的V.单复数根据那个决定呢？
