The filibuster, a parliamentary device that slows the snail’s pace that prevails even in the best of times in congressional sessions and tests the endurance of everyone associated with it, seems more and more an anachronism in the age of telecommunications. 不明白filibuster怎么和snail联系在一起， everyone associated with it 的it指代谁？filibuster怎么是anachronism?

employers will realize gains in attendance,recruiting and retention. 获得的出席人数、招聘，和保留？啥意思？？

前几天刚做过这句，其实抛开这个插入语结构很简单的。两个逗号中间是解释filibuster的定义，是一种a parliamentary device that slows xxx and tests xxx, 所以everyone associated with it 的it指代a parliamentary device. snail's pace用来形容国会会议的缓慢。作者的态度很明确，filibuster是anachronism，落后于时代。
第二句，attendance是出勤，retention是指留职，即不跳槽
