There is NO WAY that they will punish you in any form. If you deposit the $6,000 and not join:
1. Someone who's on the waitlist will be very happy to deposit his/her $6,000 and join CBS. 2. Columbia is $6,000 richer from your deposit. 3. To sue/punish you it will cost them money to hire a lawyer for litigations. It isn't worth it. How can they prove the damage you caused them? They got $6,000 from you and got a replacement (from the waitlist) who is probably as qualified as you... what damage? It won't look good in the press either for their actions. 4. Why force someone who doesn't want to go? 5. Other schools don't really respect this policy... if you took HBS over CBS ED, you think HBS would care if CBS told HBS? |
