请帮忙选择, 两处的MBA, 谢谢

George Washington 半奖 (给免了学费)

Univ. Massachusetts, Amherst 全奖 (学费+stipend)

如果读GWU, 因为在DC, 两年要生活费等三万多刀, 如果读UMass奖学金基本可以Cover生活费了.

请问如何选择? George Washington排名和地方都比UMass好, UMass在BW都没有上过Tier. 而且GWU的Program比UMass大, 国际认可也应该好一些, 可是要自己负担很大一笔费用.

Hey Cyrix,

I would choose GWU rather than UMASS Amherst.

1. I am concerned with the Rankings of these 2 schools. GWU>UMA

2. GWU has stronger Alumni/Businesses network than UMA does.

3. GWU has more research resources than UMA does since UMA is having a very tide budget now.

4. the business/job environment in D.C. is better than Amherst, which is almost 2 hour driving distance from downtown Boston.

As far as the living expenses is concerned, it is ture that D.C. has higher living cost than Amherst. But  I think u can apply for TA or other campus jobs ($6.75+ /hour) to cover part of ur living costs.

anyways, because I am an accounting junior at UMASS Boston now, I dont think we have a strong graduate study program in the UMASS system. Amherst's undergrad. business program is better than the graduate program.

如果签证没有问题，而且你家境富裕到了无所谓奖学金的地步，去GWU；

如果担心签证，而且你希望用奖学金减轻自己的财政负担，去麻州大学，挺不错的一个大学呢，声誉在当地还是不错的。

GWU相当于首都师范大学在北京的那种，麻州大学相当于辽宁大学那样的地位。

我不是很清楚GWU的情况，但是U Mass可能工作的情况不是很好?它离boston也不是很近，同时要和很多学校的学生竞争。

haha, suzhen's comment is funny. the description of GWU is quite true. but I am not sure about LiaoNing U in Mass.

you know, after all, US's Qinghua and Beida are in Mass as well.

enough for the joke today, back to the topic, UMass MBA is really not that good. but I am wondering what GWU MBA can bring you as well. both have good location. If you are going back to China immediately, GWU sounds better. if you will try to stay in US, UMass has advantage because of the scholarship.

one thing to clarify is that Undergraduate school and ranking is a totally different animal when we comparing to graduate schools

many schools are greate undergraduate schools but have horrible graduate school.
