这句话错在用based on修饰主语scholars, 我的理解是这里应该是scholars主动的base on accounts, 所以不能用based on这个表被动的形式.

28. 正确句子: Building on civilizations that preceded them in coastal Peru, the Mochica developed their own elaborate society, based on the cultivation of such crops as corn and beans, the harvesting of..and the exploitation of...

这句话里, 主语the Mochica应该也是主动的based on后面的3个东东, 为什麽就可以用based on这个表被动的形式了呢.?

前面2个句子完全同意, 问题是第3个, 为什麽不能写成: The Mochica, basing on the cultivation.., the harvesting of..and the exploitation of, developed their own elaborate society.?

说白了, 我就是不明白, base on为什麽不是修饰主语, 而修饰宾语.? 难道它放在宾语后就是修饰宾语吗.?

说白了, 我就是不明白, base on为什麽不是修饰主语, 而修饰宾语.? 难道它放在宾语后就是修饰宾语吗.?

28题的过去分词based on 可以修饰主语，也可以就进修饰，具体修饰哪个，就要看逻辑意思，本题只能修饰society
如果是现在分词，只能修饰主语

像28题这样，如何判断是修饰主句主语还是就近的名词呢？如何进行逻辑判断呢？

其实这题过去分词based on放在句中，前后有逗号，是有修饰歧义的。但是由于其他的选项有明显的不平衡错误，所以只能最优选B。


一位牛牛总结的，分词修饰对象判定：
现在、过去分词在句中，前后有逗号，有歧义：1）修饰前面紧邻的名词，2）修饰句子主语
在考察分词修饰语法的题目里出现这种结构，肯定是错误的选项
可是这里只能选这个了

跟楼主遇到同样的问题，最后说服自己的解释是based on修饰前面的一句话，并不是单独修饰，因为如果修饰宾语society 逗号太多余了不是么？
