If one day there is a big sum of money in front of me and I can use it to buy either a spacious and comfortable house or a business, I will not hesitate a little bit to choose the latter. For me, to open my own business is much more important than to own a house at present stage.
First of all, to buy a business will open my door to business success in life. I am an ambitious man, regarding success through hard work as the mission designated to me by God. When I was a child, my parents told me that as a man, I should work hard to be independent at first and then contribute to society. For numerous times, I dreamed of owning my own business. So if I have enough money to open my business, I will surely begin my business to realize my dream. Although I do not have a house at present, I still will not choose to buy it because at the current stage, house is not my pursuit.
Another reason for me to choose to buy a business is that business is a better investment than a house. I admit that investment in a house will also bring out some profit such as rental, property price increase and etc. This profit, however cannot be compared with that from a business. Usually the cash flow in a business runs much faster than that in a property investment and profit from a business can be accumulated more rapidly. Some people may say that running a business is more risky than deriving rental from a house. But no risk, no gain. Accompanied with the risk of a business is the alluring profit produced incessantly. I am willing to take the risk to have a much bigger profit from my business.
My denial of buying a house is also due to the spur I need to make continuous progress. Like everybody else, I am also fascinated by a cozy house. If I choose to buy a house now, my life will become easier and more enjoyable. However my progressive spirit will most probably wane and finally I will become satisfied with the status quo and lose the motivation for hard work. To avoid all of these happening, I would rather choose to live in a rented house where life is not easy and I can often remind myself that I need to work hard to realize my dream.
In short, I need a business to achieve success. Business is also a better avenue to produce more profit. Furthermore, to have a house may make me lose motivation to move forward. Therefore, between a business and a house, my choice will definitely go to the former.
