they是精确指代，就是说前面的reasons和后面的reasons是一样的，显然不行。those 后面的were是省略了，因为即使省略也不影响句意的完整。

You can ignore whatever comes after "me" in the first sentence, so the sentence goes "He gets the same pay as me."
The second sentence, "The furniture is made much the same way as it was 200 years ago," we are actually comparing how the two things are made.

同意helmit,主语进行比较,谓语可以写出.
ie.  .Local residents claim that San Antonio, Texas, has more good Mexican American restaurants than does any other city.
