看了很多童鞋以前的解释，但还有一点让我很困惑。
（A）中 that of earlier generations 正好与a goal of a majority of young adults形成对应关系，我把它们理解为介宾的比较，同时that指代a goal 感觉也挺正确的。
请教NN指点为什么这样理解是错误的？我哪个知识点疏忽了？

这句话要表达的是：
owning and living in a house is still a goal of young adults, 就好象it was a goal of earlier generations.
一般来说，答题的原则是保持句子原意
句子的原意并不是说：住房子是年轻人的目标，这个目标和上一代人的目标一样。

in addition,
”就好像“这个意思，如果接下来是个名词或者代名词，那么用like，如果接下来是个phrase，那么用as. 所以这里要用like,不是as

两个部分用as连接，并且后一部分省略相同部分

“住房子是年轻人的目标，这个目标和上一代人的目标一样。”这样理解也可以哈。。。
本题如何正确去理解句子的意思呢？
P.S   当时自己也选的E，但是回头想想，还是很纠结于A选项...ORZ...

2楼正解。
我排除A)是因为 "like"前紧接一个名词"young adults", 会引起比较的歧义。而E)避免类似问题。

如果词典准确的话，like 作介词时只可以比较相似的事物，而这里的goal 都只居首的部分，是完全一样的。我们用like 做介词都是描述两个有差别的事物的相似性。
而且，这道题目从意思上来讲，不是比较两个goal，而是比较“拥有房子是梦想”对于年轻人和另一部分人是否成立这一事实。例如
the AV movie is a treasure for me ,as it is for you.如果说成 the AV Movie is a treasure of me ,like a treasure of you.就非常奇怪了
