关于during的时态问题

记得以前学过1）during后加点时间用过去式如Our spending on gasoline increased more than 100 percent during the last decade.
2）during后加短时间用完成时如During the last ten years, economic conditions in the nation as a whole have been worse than those within the state.

所以不明白A选项it did的时态了，请大家帮忙~~~

我也有类似问题，不过看起来during并不强制要求完成式。

我记得during不是完成时的标志，楼主举得第二句话例子
During the last ten years, economic conditions in the nation as a whole have been worse than those within the state.
即使用
In the last ten years..
也要用完成时的
所以在这种情况下During并不是完成时的标志，而应该是他搭配了the last ten years后的这个时间状语是完成事的标志

“the last ten years”单拿出来我觉得只是说明了时间，我所说的完成时的标志应该确切的是“in/during the last XX years”，你说的那个是“从农业开始到1950之间的10000年”，应该也是只说明了时间

可是题中有during……却用的还是did……

我想问这个  economy has grown more than it did   这个more怎么能用来形容economy呢……？经济增多了？不是应该增长率增加什么的么？？？  是不是more和than 之间少了个词啊？比如fast，因为我看B就是这么解释的
