I am really confused, if the enroll rate is 0.3 then I think everyone could bet on that.
From my concern, in mainland a lot university finance phd program's enroll rate is 10%.
Therefore, us top100 is worse than china top20.

据我所知，美国人并不像我们，申请很多。有的甚至只申请一所，就搞定了。就是中国人，神情20所的人也很少，至少我没有。当我说我深了10多所，人家都无法理解。

i calculate 1000 as follows:

about 200 applicants    per school
100 school in all
one applicant apply 20 schools.

so    200*100/20 =1000
