i think most of the CEOs probably graduated from college 30-40 years ago. The value of an MBA at their times was not as pronounced as it is now. To me I don't see how much valuable info can we draw from this study. It is somewhat like 刻舟求剑. It's like saying we don't need a college degree because many of the rich people in China now do not have a college degree. We are in a different era now. Much of what is taught in B-school nowadays are discoveries in recent years. Take finance for example, the derivatives market started to take shape only in 1980s after BlackScholes and Binomial tree in the 70s.. Business issues are becoming more complex. Our understanding of organizational behavior, human psychology, finance and capital markets and many many other aspects of business are on a unprecedented high level, unlike 30-40 years ago. The MBA degree offers a platform where all these advanced knowledge can be systematically inculcated. With our knowledge continue to advance in such areas, an MBA could only become more and more valuable. -- by 会员 wordance (2010/3/14 12:38:01)
刻舟求剑 --- Insightful!
Maybe we should come back 20 years from now and see what the new stats look like? |
