Yes... this is a comparison of 2    events: (1) they appear to us [now]; (2) they appeared to us [before]. The former is fine, but the latter is not. We    didn't exist    to see them during the formation of the universe.


The wrong sentences are more interesting than the right ones~~~ It takes some time & effort to understand their [wrong] logic.
