public school sucks...  imagine more than 60 students in a classroom... UTD is more like a commuter school. It is ambitious, Dean said that hopefully UTD is the next tire one school in Texas, and it may be the only school that building facilities under current condition, It is supported by the state gov, but still have a long way to go...

For Accounting major, Chinese student can find a job if he or she doesn't mind about the salary and endless overtime. Usually, $2400 a month after tax, probably 4000 if you got AICPA, generally the employers are local Chinese accouting firms, mainly in taxation. It is almost impossible for Chinese students go to big firms like big four. Some of my friends got hired in the industry in Houston, but that was back in 2007, before the Cirisis.

Doing accounting for Chinese student in the U.S. is not very promising for now. Yes, it is stable, but you can see where u end-up from the first day of your work.

BTW, AICPA is NOT practical in China, so don't expect AICPA can give that much if you are going back to China.

I always think coming back China after two-year work in USA is a better choice than struggling in USA for just a status.

Do you think a master degree of Accounting in UTD will give us much if we plan to go back China?

Nope... most people in China only know about Ivy league schools, the other schools would be considered as the same level, of course, there might be a minor groupe of employers knows foreign schools very well, as far as I know, Companies have this concept that the U.S. graduates are more capable, proficient in English and fast learning... Nevertheless, at least you will be treated the same as Chinese Graduate students. Moreover, The name of UT Dallas can impress the employer in some extent  since most of them know about a place in the U.S. called Texas:>

Because the U.S. and China are using different accounting principles, you might have to study Chinese principles and regulations all over again if you are willing to do accounting in China. However, honestly, Accountants are paid really low if you are not a CICPA holder.

For people, who wants to have "couple years" experience before coming back to China, the CONSISTENCY in your career is relatively significant. What I am saying is, your accounting experience in the U.S. is useful for you , only if you are going to do accounting in China.

And my suggestion is DO NOT do taxation while you are in the states! It is totally useless for u! Find Auditing! I know that is hard, but much more useful!

Of course, there is an absolutely different scenario for people who wants to have the PR status. These people need to learn from those Mexcans! go take it as long as there is a job! don't care about the pay as long as they are willing to sponsor. Hanging on there for several years, after you got your working experience and AICPA, I truely believe your American dream will come true some day!

What you said is objective. Nonetheless,  I don't have time to take CICPA this september when I will have gone to USA. I could take CICPA only after I come back CHINA. Life is always so tough.
