The key question is: why mba?

(Sorry, can't type Chinese...the computer sucks..)
then, MBA may not be the right solution for your current situation. You should think about the following:
1, searching for entry level positions in the Finance or Consulting - I know this is gonna be hard, especially for big firms. But try to see whether there's any boutique firms, that could provide a solid analytical foundation for you.
2, working in current FMCG company. Then apply MBA after a couple of more years. Recruiters in consulting also hire people with FMCG pre-MBA backgrounds, especially for the marketing strategy firms.

If you goal is to become a banker or consultant, applying MBA now might not help you to realize your goals, since:
1, when hiring associates, these firms prefer top school MBAs. Given your short experience and your goal statements, the chance to get in is slim
2, when hiring associates, they are looking for people either (1) solid pre-MBA backgrounds in consulting/banking or, (2) solid industry experience, that will actually inject new energy into the firm

Just my two cents, didn't see the ADCOM will be convinced by your goal and experience. But if you are determined to become an Entrepreneur and already are operating a boutique company. Then, you got a good chance

Always ask yourself, what will you bring to the table? Don't just think about what you'll get out of this mba experience. That's just too selfish, and top schools are never satisfied with this answer. Also, i've heard many Adcom stress the importance of finding yourself before you go to mba, instead of trying to use the mba experience to find yourself. Believe it or not, 2 years is an awfully short time, and you don't have that much room to figure out what you want. You need to go into action right away, and grab all the opportunities that you can find to prepare yourself to be the best candidate the future companies want.

I disagree with the guy before. In fact, you need to absolutely think about what you want to get out of this MBA experience. Most people think about things like "brand", "alumni", etc. But what does that actually MEAN? What will you GET from this? A lot of people don't have a convincing answer- that's where they fail.

Lack of work experience is not an issue- I went to Wharton straight after college.

thanks
i think douce is stressing the inportance of your contribution to school, like your unique experience brings ppl something new

and of course, your plan is important too

Honestly, your experience is rather interesting (the non-career part). I don't know the details of them, but they can be a good story. Of course, it all depends on what exactly you did, what you learn from it, how this shape your future plan etc etc.

I'm not in MBA programs yet, so I can't say I can speak for what the schools are looking for. At the same time, always think of yourself as a product, and you're trying to sell to the schools. Do you feel you are convincing enough, that you're that perfect addition to their pie chart? If the answer is no, then you probably want to look into how you can make your experience more standout (by getting more experience, or by package it better).

I think jelt2359 misunderstood my point earlier(and BTW I'm not a guy), but I think his comments are perfectly valid. There're tens of thousands of applicants every year, you need to know how to stand out in the pool.

My two cents again.
