the Incan highway was over 2,500 miles long这个是句子的主干，前面的是用来修饰the Incan highway，后面的是用来修饰 over 2,500 miles long
GWD-4-17：AB区别于后面的时态一个是过去式一个是完成时。。。根据平行结构。。肯定是完成时。。哈哈LZ明白否？
