OG 11-5 连错四遍，请教如何能够看出划线部分是修饰company的？

og 11-5 这题我连错了四遍！！！都是因为做题时看不出来划线部分是修饰company的，总是以为是修饰sales的，请教NN，如何一下子判断出划线部分是修饰company而不是sales的？

我自己想的判断点：

（1）从句子意思上看（这个做题时最困难了，4次了我都没看出来，但好像句子意思也不难理解，可就是看不出来，估计得用点语法点才能解惑）

（2）看rivals——竞争者，肯定it指人，而不是sales。这点对吗？是否还有其他的能够判断出划线部分修饰company的好方法吗？

我可不想再错第5遍了 呵呵 诚挚请教啊：） 想俺可是做过了og3遍+BY1遍+prep新1遍+prep旧1遍的人那！

原题如下：

很明显是公司竞争,其他的名词都不可能，而company是单数,用it,
