答案是A，我认为是D。A中Not only..but also...后面的两个内容明显是感情色彩相反的，A，不应该再用not only...but also...了，而且but it also，这么用可以吗？

关于D在逻辑上的合理之处，我完全同意lz的想法，因为前后意思发生了转折，所以不应用 not only but also,而是 but it also

关于A还有一个错误就是倒装句中gave应为give,由此几乎可以肯定A是错的

应该是D

not only....but also....连接的两个部分，作用方向应该一致，即：not only positive, but also positive.或者not only negative, but also negative.

根据逻辑意思，此处不适合用not only...but also..... 因为句子前半部分为positive,后半部分为negative.

请教：记得石林语法里面讲过：not only……but also……结构中but also不是不能拆开的吗？所以A选项中but it also是错误的吧？
