MBA is of no use after you find a job and the value is more likely to decrease in time while a PhD does the opposite. I quited my job at an investment bank for phd, although it was at economy downturn. but I know even if i carried on there and earned big money, i might still be a lucky idiot only. dont even mention the chance is really low. not so easy to earn 7 digit bonus. i wont say how much i love research but i know how much i hate industry jobs....my supervisor now is a god compared to former blunt boss.....i can control my own work/life pace, meaning i can study till midnight or wake up at noon although neither happens quite often. but i know i can do that.i dont need to kiss ass or worry about rumors and i dont need to be the same as everyone else around you. although undergrad students make trouble constantly and research is hard, i love the life style im leading now. people have heterogeneous utility functions...... |
