正确答案D，我能明白答案里是将call female moths.....与attract their mates......并列，并且其中都有rather than，句子结构更合理。

但是C我不明白，C是将using acoustical......与attracting.......并列，从句意上看，也是行的通的。而且用by using是不是更好一些呢？

我认为C中，若理解成using acoustical signals与not using olfactory ones两者是小并列（by using acoustical......与by attracting.......为大并列），小并列之间也应该有but或and连接。
若理解成by using acoustical signals, not using olfactory ones, and by attracting。。。三者并列，那么not using olfactory ones前也应该加by啊。
不知道我这样说，你能否明白。应该还有别的解题点。open to discuss。

我觉得还有要和A保持愿意的成分在吧，A中的attract应该是和call并列的~
