还有说E“to protect cannot act as an adjective modifying items”，为啥就不能修饰呢？

关于D，你可以参考OG12的解释，比较合理。

Th prepositional phrase “as a protection of
warriors“ is awkward and imprecise; using
the noun form protection creates wordiness
and is awkward in reference to items.

关于E，to do 是不能做非限定定语从句修饰先行词的啊。

此掩护体是一个重要的军事设备************。**的地方时接下来你可以修饰“军事设备的”

所以，你可以说，

此掩护体是一个重要的军事设备，which cost a lot.

此掩护体是一个重要的军事设备，protecting us from USA.

但是不能说

此掩护体是一个重要的军事设备，to protect us from USA.

我记得XDF老师说过animal-hide shields with wooden 本身不是一个METHOD，而是怎么去用这个东西是一个METHOD，所以答案中出现过METHOD的都不能用的
