我不是NN啊...我语法很不行...但要是我我就会选A，因为as 前面是 did+N.+V., as 后面did its reaturn 的话比较平行对称，而且its的指代也没有问题。did应该不能去。

说的可能不对...还请各位NN看一看

正确答案：C，不是A。

主句的主语是Halley's comet, 动词是cause...，而平行结构里A选项主语是its return, 不平行。
C的话，应该是主句时间状语“In no other historical sighting”与“In its return in 1910-1911" 平行对比。
