for VC and PE in the U.S., the chances for Stern full time MBA graduates is minimal, if any. It usually requires M7, or even HSW at least. One reason you do see some Stern Alum in VC and PE is because those people were part time program alum, they worked for GS, MS, or ML, and went to B school at the same time (Stern offers the best part time MBA education in New York City). They had already had the connections for IB, then PE or VC. For an international student, such situation almost does not exist. If those people chose to go to full time, they clearly had good chance of getting into a better school, say Booth.
