关于Acct PHD研究方向

小妹想申请2010年Acct PHD,现在想了解一下常见的研究方向,请前辈们多多赐教~

据我有限的了解,有大概4个方向:

Capital market research(empirical),Accounting theory(Analytical),Taxation,and Managerial Accounting.

目前我想做跟corporate finance有关的,是不是应该考虑capital market research呢?除了这一个外其他方向跟企业联系紧密的还有哪些呢?

想问问大家都想申请哪些方向及原因~谢谢啦

还有,有什么比较好的文章或者书可以帮助我们申请人较快和浅显地了解下"什么是会计研究"吗?现在在找journal看,但是感觉那些内容好深奥啊,我现在的水平还看不懂,但是还是满喜欢做研究的,所以想找些研究介绍性的资料来看一下,望各位前辈指教~

u don't need to show ur research interest when u apply if u don't have several paper in hand, u only need to show ur smart, intellgence, hard working, which comes from PS and RL, the latter is the most important

Corporate finance.. It is related to accounting, but not an area. I guess you want to focus on capital market research. Read Kothari's 2001 review paper. Although it is an 10-yr old paper, it is still quite helpful for beginners.

不过感觉申请的时候大家的研究经验都仅仅在RA或者未发表的论文的co-author吧

其实不必太在意研究方向问题，展现给对面你很smart，有Motivation就差不多了。去了他们自然会培养你
