28-1题答案C的to do有问题.

先说说provide这个词,提供.按照逻辑的合理性,应该是provide sth for sb to do, 或者, provide sth against sth. 而C中to do不定式表示目的, 但因为provide的发出者作为to do的逻辑主语会不合逻辑, 所以to do的逻辑主语缺失;

根据前人搜集的资料,provide important clues to的用法也是有的.不过to是作为介词使用,也就是to doing XX.所以C答案在to determine这个部分使用有误.

再者,那个how...and when they...的组合比how and when...要来得啰嗦.

至于29-1,在原句中有一个细节需要注意, 那就是nation's highest military award和long overdue in recognition of...是平行的,都为congressional medal of honor的修饰语.

能够满足这一逻辑的选项就只有A和E.

A答案中and后面的which was明显多余,所以答案只有E了.

不过E答案个人认为也有不完美的地方. 它把原来congressional medal of honor的表语long overdue改成了recognition的定语.虽然很好地使句子变得简洁,却不知道会不会影响到句子的原意.
