看了德克修改的一些文章，自己也写了一篇给大家来拍拍砖~~~

43 People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, and increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

 

It is a trend that more people choose to attend universities to pursue further study after graduation from high schools. In my country, people are proud to be university students, since this title means more promising future. From my point of view, people go to universities mainly for accumulating knowledge and also expanding network for future.

 

High school education is still fundamental, since all the students almost learn the same courses. Therefore, if you find yourselves very keen on some specific areas, you should go to colleges to learn more. College or university is a good place for people to pursue specific learning. For instance, if a person shows enthusiasm in marketing, there are no particular courses for him/her to learn in high school. In that case, he/she may choose to attend the marketing department in university. There, he/she will find fellow students having the same passion as he/she does, many designed courses, educated professors with high reputation in the area and large amount of resources available. Indeed, what a nice place to study!

 

Furthermore, university is also a gathering place for elites. Although not all the students there learn the same things, this fact doesn't prevent them from communicating, exchanging ideas, inspiring each other and becoming friends and even partners in the future. In most cases, attending a respected university means having a high-quality network, which benefits a lot for people's future development. Alumni help each other. It is not surprising that Harvard students may meet their alumni during interviews with Fortune 500 companies.  It is also not amazing that alumni support each other on career development. Likewise, it is not news anymore that several alumni start up a new business and work together.

 

In conclusion, attending university brings lots of benefits, among which knowledge accumulation and network expansion are the chief ones. Do cherish the opportunity to learn more, share more and know more is my suggestion to those ready for going to universities.
