帮忙看看：申请俩part time mba 被拒，下一步如何？

今天收到拒绝信。心情黯淡。

背景：uibe工商管理专业，平均成绩85，gmat760，500强公司，7年cfo秘书，两年美国外派，但口语一般（惭愧）。不想留美。

原本打算利用外派的时候，参加一个part time MBA，遂申请了两个学校，kellogg和booth。但今天收到kellogg拒信，booth的自我感觉比kellogg还差，估计结果也不会怎样。

拒信除了套话外，一段特别提到： in an effort to explain the Committee's decision, it may be helpful for you to know that the quality of applicants to Kellogg is consistently strong, therefore the Committee's task--of enrolling a class with strong acdemic skills, high managerial potential and diverse interests- is challenging.

隐含的意思是说：我的acdemic skills, managerial potential and diverse interests不够么？

一个残酷的事实提上日程：32了，并且这几个方面都是无法或短期无法改变的，而外派的年限不可能有那么长时间，所以想重新申请这两所学校几乎不太可能。

对于这种现状，哪种解决的方式比较现实些：申请一个差一点的学校，还是辞职然后申请其他水平接近的学校，抑或是别的解决办法？ 真的迷惘中。

或者是我的背景，申请这两个学校定位不准确么？

academic skill貌似没什么问题呀，

可能是managerial potential的关系，感觉好像经验比较单一，是怎么讲的career goal的呢？

A typical, standard "ding" letter from Kellogg, nothing personal (they wouldn't have time to prepare a letter just for you). Other folks who are dinged would have received the same letter.

谢谢师弟/妹。career goal，从目前的分公司中层，三五年内做到分公司高层/总部中层，10年左右做到总部高层。

这也是自己的计划，没有什么虚构或修饰内容加进去。

哦，多谢祝福。我也觉得他们的回信有点官僚了。不过回的很快，从submit，到收到拒信，前后不到两周时间。

觉得您对kellogg比较了解，如果我去信问他们为什么拒了我，会有结果么？

Fall semester weekday and weekend admissions are usually a little more competitive than the other admissions.

I would suggest:

1. have somebody (either a consultant or a friend who is in B school) thoroughly review your application package, identify the points that can be further improved.

2. communicate with the admission officers, and get their feedback. Frankly discuss the weakness in your previous application and also tell them you plan to mitigate those weakness

3. apply again

4. for Kellogg and Booth part time, what you can do is: start taking classes part time first, and then look for an internship yourself, once you are ready for the internship, resign from your current company, finish the internship, finish the rest of school in a full time manner (though you are still a part time student by name, both schools do not allow transfer form PT to FT anymore), parcipate in the on campus recruit activities, and then find a job.

By the way, since you are already a mid manager, you should tell them clearly why you should PT, not EMBA.

多谢详细的指点。

关于第三点，重新申请的话，在半年之内，申请材料估计也不会有太大的变化，essay可以重新构思，但工作经验应该不会变化很多。

刚收到拒信，也正想跟学校联系一下，到底是什么原因呢？如果是目标什么的，还可以修正，但是背景方面的就难点了

只能沟通一下再看了
