大家都认为是正确答案是B，可是B中personal spending 能与the 1.4 percent growth rate 相比较么？

还有，普遍认为that of没有指代，我觉得that 是对应前面的8/10 of 1 percent 的；如果把中间的状语去掉，原句变成 Retail sales rose 8/10 of 1 percent in August,more than doubling that of the 1.4 percent growth rate in personal spending for the previous quarter。rose 还与growth rate相对应。

8/10 of 1 percent 到底是什么意思？

本人还是入门阶段，还望同学能指点一下该题。

是0.008的意思， 这里不需要对应， ROSE是动词，怎么能跟名词对应呢，

这里严格来说不是个比较结构，  DOUBLE 用做动词， MORE THAN 是修饰它的副词。

A would more than double B，  A 和 B 只要是个因果关系就行了。

另外哦， A选项用过去式也不对

可是即便是这样，我觉得如果说：spending doubles rate...好像也说不通啊？？？
