请问：为什么不能用to allow 呢？

不定式作后置定语，与前面修饰词有动宾关系，they are the devices to allow two or more computers，意思就变成allow devices，歧义。比如i have something to do ( do sth); i want somthing to eat, 诸如此类；

101，combine 接-ing分词，本身结构就混乱，GMAT中，分词应该修饰近身名词，或逗号隔开修饰句子（前面的动作），或者放在句首，修饰主句主语（我能看到的，就这三种），此句中三者都不符合。换成to do 表结果。

不知道理解的对否

为什么呢？combine不可以是名词吗？LS所说的结构混乱是不是因为加ING没有道理呢？比如不是固定搭配之类的啦？

恩~ 觉得ing分词出现的情况好像也就这三种。got it。
