答案是E，还是D,查了好多以前的讨论帖，好像没有定论。

反对D的说D有歧义，应该是8000收入以下的tuition和收入16000以上的tuition比，而不是收入8000和收入16000比。但是D刚好用了一个省略as(many indenpendent institutions of higher education) charge (tuition and fees )over 16000，完全没有歧义阿

而E中的those本来就很奇怪，如果是指代institutions，这个比较就不平衡了，就成了more than 3 times as A do1 as those doing1如果指代tuition and fees的话，后面应该用charged.

有没有NN来说说到底选什么啊这道题……

个人觉得那个as many as是一定要补全的

是固定结构吧

然后those是主语，不然就不知道谁charge了

可是BY和Prep笔记上都说代词不能单独充当主语哦

应该是those+n.才可以哦

GWD的没有做全，有些答案是有问题的，比如那道以Being作为主语开头的题目（Prep里有）。

这道题我怎么觉得答案应该是A呢？结构是这样的：more X do A than those that do B, 应该用than而不是as来比较吧。。。three times as many 之后不用补 as.

as....as 比较主语，而主语是同类名词时 的使用习惯。

(B) Americans were killed than

此题答案应该是D，原因如下：

as ...as..后边的as是连词，应该跟完整的句子或者是省略的句子，如果选E则是相当于跟名词短语了（charging 做后置定语修饰those），从语法上来说，肯定是D好，把能省 的都省了。

可能选D的同学们受到OG题的影响：

这题选A，原因如下：

as many as，排除BC

前文没有出现there，所以后文there不构成任何对比，排除D

现在，可能大家的理解是不应补充第二个as后面的成分，句子更简洁

但是其实真正原因是those who表示在civil war已经死过一次的人在诺曼底D-Day又死一遍。。。（还魂术？）

因此并不是“能省就省”就是好的答案，是因为补上as后面的东西之后，人就可以死两遍，所以不对

言归正传，现在讲这道题

这道题可以这么看，如果选D，简化句子，就成了

... more than three times as many A (charge X) as (charge Y)

句子本意是比较institutions，但现在没有A和B的对比

E的结果是

... more than three times as many A (charge X) as those (charging Y)

很清晰的出现了A和those的对比，并且如同史诗般工整对仗

因此E是答案
