同意.我觉得so放在them后面也可以，放在named前面无非是起一个强调作用吧，毕竟解释说明的是mountains名字，突出一下重点也是情理之中。同时也感觉不出so放在them后面会有什么毛病，一逻辑上不会修饰到supposedly，二不可能because从句..  不过sheer we rocks是不是typos呢?

umm...指代名词短语glass house mountains(so指代名词短语并充当宾语补足语是可以的).这里so就作为them的宾语补足语。还原就是：named them glass house mountains.

偶觉得so这里就是adv修饰name，name在这里的用法是name sth. sth.，这里的them指代眼前的山脉，so指代 ...House Mountines.即那个人把眼前这些山脉命名成House Mountines，是因为....

umm...nemo, 如果妳是讚同aeoluseros兄&天蝎座的說法(so指代 Glass House Mountains), 那so應該是代名詞(因為它代的是名詞), 不是副詞(adv).

沒找到任何書有提類似的用法....
