I agree MBA would cost quite amount of money as well as time. But I see MBA is an investment in yourself, and money better spent comparing to buying a house. I agree, you might be, as many other MBA graduates, in debt in the first year or two after your MBA. But ask yourself, what is your career horizon? If you have another 30 years to go in your career, an MBA will for sure better yourself in the long-run. On the other hand, if your horizon is 5 years, you might want to think twice, especially in an ecnonomy like this. I personally believe going to an MBA is like going to an expensive "country club" where the brank and the "players" in the club is far more important than the books. I also believe that going for MBA now is a relatively lower opportunity cost as compared to some other time. So if you feel you need to go for a MBA to explore your career, do it now and go to a brand-name school. If you want an MBA, because it is your dream at 6 years old, plesse think twice. |
