why some people don't care  and not sure whether they want to pursue Ph.D, but they can make it.

Others may desperately seek a postion to fill in because they love academic and research, but they end up with nothing.

即使是现在还未对research有浓厚兴趣的申请者，在在录取后可以培养出兴趣。

这个假设不一定全对，但是只要足够对就可以了。

In my view,

Love is important for your success in your academic career. However, during the application process , qualification and strength are important than the eagerness and your love in research, which absolutely are helpful if you display in your PS. After all, those applicants with strong qualification ,who maybe do not know for sure about their decision, normally pretend to love research, so in this regard, they also convince the faculty about their motivation and dedication equally effectively as those with poorer qualifications and strong determination as well as love for resear

Anyway, real life is cruel. Human society is still a kind of animal world. The fittest survives. Try to improve your qualifications and win or face the reality and enjoy the failure.

For me , participation is more important than the results.

Hope for the best and accept the worst.

现在竞争越来越激烈，不比以前好混日子，喝过洋水的人多去了,喝过洋水的现在还要分个三六九等了，不是牌子校都吃不开，而且找工作的时候又会发现好位置都被人家占了，别人拿的很容易，但我付出多几倍都拿不到了。

总体说来，这是个社会问题，供给过剩了。
