考点：习惯用语、指代一致

1、         习惯用语-risk of doing sth, risk of sth（risk分别为名词）, risk doing（risk为动词）。

2、         指代一致，it只能指代句子中出现过的单数名词，注意未划线部分的提示。

 

(A) one指代risk，risk in a million chances表达错误；risk of doing是习惯用语。

(B) 正确，one chance in a million用以修饰little，risk of causing cancer是正确的表达方式。

(C) that it重复，前面已经有that present，it指代不清楚，无法指代复数名词toxic substances。

(D) risk后面应该跟of doing，而不是for doing。

(E) it指代不清楚；risk后面应该跟of doing，而不是to do。

可是，正解当中的as little risk as one chance in a million of causing, 在as...as当中怎么夹着的是个名词，不是应该是形容词原级吗？？

另外，A为什错？one in a million chances和one chance in a million 之间有什么区别吗？

还有对语法笔记的一个质疑（蓝色），为什么这里的of doing 不是修饰更加靠近的chance?? chance 作“可能性”解，也有chance to do 和chance of doing.

刚才查了下One chance in a million有词组的，形容可能性之小。

EG：.She has only a chance in a million of getting the job.
她能得到那份工作的希望很渺茫。

当然是可以的，是英语里的常见结构，而且是GMAT常考的。

比如我记得OG中有一题。Four times as Many American as would die...
