According to a recent study conducted by the officials, the amount of time people spend watching TV is more than that spent on books everyday. There is a public debate today on whether people learn more knowledge from watching TV than from reading books. Some people hold the idea that books are still our most important source of knowledge. On the contrary, there are also some people, including me, who hold the opinion that TV, even not replace books completely, is becoming the primary channel to transfer information, for the reason that the information provided by TV programs is abundant, fresh and easy to be understood.

 

No one can deny the convenience of acquiring information brought by TV. Unlike books, TV can express information not only by means of words but also pictures and voices, so the knowledge provided by TV programs are easy to grab, which is especially important for children and those who are not well educated. My little nephew, for example, is just seven-years-old, but he know more things about animals than me, such as how tigers prey rabbits and why frogs keep sing all summer night. You may want to ask him, “who tell you so much?” The answer may surprise you as do me. “Animal world (a popular TV program in China)”. Yes, it is not rare to hear that TV is the teacher of children at home.

 

Another advantage of TV can not be ignored is that the information from TV are always fresh or new. In other words, TV makes people keep pace with the world. In this point, books are obvious to lose the game. People are likely to find the “new” books they purchases yesterday from bookstore have already been out of date. By watching TV, they don’t worry about the problem, considering the fact that hundreds and thousands of people are trying their best to find the newest information all over the world for us. To some extent, TV teaches us how to cook in new favor, how to dress in fashionable style, and how to keep healthy by new way.

 

Considerable though the advantages that the development of TV programs brought are, we should never negelect the significance that books are for human kind. Even in modern day, the numbers of books an individual have read is still the efficient factor to measure the intelligence of that person.

 

In conclusion, though it is no doubt that books still play an important role in our lives, I feel that the influnce that TV have on people’s knowledge acquiring are greater. Since seeking for better knowing about the world and ourselves is one of the chief desire of human beings, we have good reason to accept and cheer up for that people learn more from TV than books.

Is it more important to use land for human use such as farming, industry than to save for endangered animals.

 

A recent study conducted by scientists indicates that every year approximately 600 kinds of animals in the world are facing the danger of extinction. Some states begin to push a project of saving land for those endangered animals. This action reminds us of a worldly debate on whether the land should be used for human use such as farming and industry or for endangered animals. Some people who stand on the ground that human beings are the head of the world hold the idea that land should be used for human use. There are also some people, including me, who hold the opinion that endangered animals’ need for land is more urgent than human kind so that we should save some amount of land for them.

 

First of all, it is no doubt that land is the most important resource for human’s survival and development. We need land to farm in order to produce enough food, like rice, corn, vegetables and fruits. Also, the essential materials which are used to made up clothes always from land. Industry developed on the ground provides us books, shoes and other products which play a vital role in human’s modern civilization.

 

However, the human beings are not the solo kind of animals who live on the land. Land is also indispensable for other animals’ survival. According to the scientists, many endangered animals are right the ones who lose their land for inhabiting and moving. In fact, humans should take some responsibility for causing the loss of land of endangered animals. Pandas, for example, who used to live on the mountain area in the southwest of China were facing the danger of extinction for pat dacades because that the mountain they live on are becoming the site of factory. I believed that other animals are also enjoy the right to survive the world and humans are responsible for saving land for them.

 

Saving land for endangered animals are not only benificial for themselves but also for the whole living creatures, including human kind. The knowledge about nature tell us the truth that no one can survive the world without other species. Endangered animals’ living are of significance for the diversity of species which has directly and indirectly  influence on the human’s exisitiance.

 

In conclusion, I believe although land is the most important resource for human kind, we can not neglect the need of other animals, especially those endangered animals. Land are also indispensiable for their living. Additionly, human beings take the responsibility to protect other animals. Not only we need save land for them, but also we should prevent to pollute the environment we share.
